RTP offers its clients different types of consulting, technical advice and services for the development of R&D projects, as well as process engineering for metallurgical and biometallurgical processes, adapted to the needs of companies and each particular project.

RTP offers technical-economic studies and audits for mining-metallurgical companies in the metallic minerals sector. The use of advanced methodologies and systems for the analysis and evaluation of complex problems make up the success and quality of our work, which is fundamentally based on trust and open and permanent collaboration with our clients.

The RTP team has developed a good understanding of the needs and opportunities demanded by the metal mining sector and tries to provide optimal solutions to its customers, attending to their criteria and interests.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT (R&D)

The main technological areas where RTP collaborates with its clients by offering R+D+i Services include: (i) Mineral processing, covering all stages of the process, (ii) Hydrometallurgical processing of primary ores and concentrates, particularly polymetallic and complex sulfides, and (iii) Circular Economy, such as the reprocessing of tailings and mining-metallurgical waste, and the recycling of secondary materials such as spent batteries, etc.

RTP cooperates with its clients in the development of innovative technologies for the efficient and sustainable recovery of base metals, precious metals, critical raw materials (CRM, SRM) and energy transition metals (rare earths, lithium, cobalt, etc.). The RTP team has extensive experience to analyse, define, plan and carry out the necessary R+D activities, from experimental test works at laboratory and bench scale, to pilot and demonstration facilities; RTP has the knowledge and extensive experience to perform all these tasks successfully and at reasonable expense, and they can be executed at your customer's premises or in external laboratories.

The primary objective of R+D activities is to progress and achieve the required TRL (level of technological development) from basic research (TRL 2-4) to demonstration and prototype testing (TRL 6-8). RTP experts will offer technological solutions that create added value in response to the challenges posed by the mining-metallurgical industry of the 21st century. When appropriate, RTP will recommend to its customers appropriate and renowned commercial laboratories for chemical analysis, mineralogical analysis and metallurgical testing, which are vital to efficiently and reliably carry out the R&D works associated with the development of research projects. In the event that customers need the installation of new metallurgical laboratories or pilot facilities to perform their metallurgical tests in-house, RTP will provide technical assistance to design the R+D facilities, define the required equipment and devices, and implement the QA/QC quality control protocols and standards based on LIMS applications in order to optimise the operation of R&D activities and outcomes.

PROCESS DESIGN AND ENGINEERING

RTP provides a wide range of Process Design and Engineering.

RTP's metallurgists and process engineers have extensive experience and knowledge in the development, design and implementation of new industrial projects, ensuring that the original ideas and research results of a new project can be extrapolated into a reliable and efficient industrial plant; to this end, they will provide the technical information and the conceptual and design engineering of the process that are necessary for this purpose. RTP is the ideal partner to efficiently execute the initial stage of Conceptual Engineering and Preliminary Evaluation of the project; the next stages of Basic and Detailed Engineering must be carried out by other specialised engineering companies; RTP will be your client's trusted partner (acting as in-house engineering) in relation to other companies.

The engineering services that RTP provides include:

• Definition of the bases of the project. Description of the processes​.
• Design of the process stages and integration in smart flowsheets. Preparation of block and process diagrams.
• Mass and energy balance. RTP recommends the use of process simulation software, in particular the METSIM program​.
• Review of engineering documents and flowsheets provided by third-party engineering​.
• Tools for project evaluation. Preliminary economic evaluation and feasibility studies. RTP recommends "AACE International, the Cost Estimate Classification System" as a practical guide to apply the general principles of cost estimation adapted to each phase of project development​.
